YouTube Round Up

Happy Friday! We made it. It has been one lonnnnng week. I topped it off with a visit to the grocery store today. I was down to Saltines and lime juice. And there’s only so many things you can do with lime juice. It was one of those “I know better than to come to the store tired and semi-hungry” shopping trips. Fifty percent of my cart was uber healthy–veggies, fruit, and other things I probably won’t eat. Then the other half–microwave mini-cakes, a Fudge Round, Cocoa Pebbles, a package of Hostess donettes. (In other words, things that will be gone by Sunday night.)  In my defense, I bough the donettes for someone else. But for a moment. . . they were mine.

Have you seen this clip of a Belgium train station? Thanks to teacher friend and new mom Brooke S. for passing this on.

I sat in my house, watched this, and totally belted it out. How can you listen to anything from the Sound of Music and NOT sing? (And I might’ve done a few hand motions. So…a needle pulling thread…)  I love it when they do the remix. They make Julie Andrews all funky. Not that she isn’t already… Though THIS is my all-time favorite Sound of Music song.

Though Julie Andrews will never compare to this guy. I’d skip to the 50 second mark, if I were you.

In case that’s not enough sensitivity and techno wonderment for you…

You know, I’m not much of a dare devil, and I have no interest in sky diving. But sometimes, I’m like, “Why isn’t there a song to sum up my feelings about why I’d rather not jump from an airplane?” My wait is over.

So my study hall is getting to watch a movie next week as a reward for not doing anything lately worthy of juvie. When I asked them what they wanted to watch, I got answers like Super Bad and Step Brothers. What’s a decent PG movie? I’ve thought of Night at the Museum, but I don’t know if that’s interesting enough for them. (And yes, I’ve already forced Princess Bride on them.) Though THIS looks good…

LOVED Ricky Gervais in the original.

Okay, I must go prepare for a storm-riddled baseball game. There’s nothing curly-haired girls love more than getting drenched and drying out to look like Buckwheat. Have a fabulous weekend!!!!

Haha, that train station thing was awesome, even funnier because I was just watching the Sound of Music a couple of nights ago. It’s like, my best friend’s and my song…when we were at camp, we used to just randomly belt it out in the bathroom and get weird looks from everyone else.
It seemed like something Improv Everywhere would do, though. Have you heard of them? They’re these guys in NYC who do crazy pranks on the public…search “Food Court Musical” on Youtube, I think you’d probably love it.

i always wanted to join one of those improv groups improv everywhere started. of course, NWA isnt fortunate enough to be that cool…-_-
and no. pg movies are dead to kids.. its sad. no good. night at the museum would hold their interest i think though. its good quality fun. we watched Broke Down Palace in lit my 8th grade year. i remember that being interesting then(and still is good) Big Fish would also be interesting good fun for them i think.
    have a good weekend!

NWA definitely needs one of those improv groups. THat would be awesome.

Melodie, I just watched it! That’s amazing! Arkansas so needs a group like that. That would make any food court better!

This Mark Gormley fellow … I don’t know what to say. Is this really for real? It looks bad enough to be real doesn’t it? And to think I almost downloaded Kelly Clarkson’s new CD when Mark Gormley is out there!

oh mercy, jenny… i’m that person you feel sorry for who watched the Sound of Music on television not once, but TWICE last weekend. and the one who went on the Sound of Music tour not once, but TWICE. for shame.

Natalie, Mark has more talent in his little finger than Kelly has in her entire being.

Jocelyn…Sound of Music tour?? I’m so impressed!

I love that you “forced” The Princess Bride on them…it’s one of my favorite movies!

Just go with more 80s fare…Ghostbusters? Goonies?
