Britain Has All The Fun

I’m loving the blog suggestions. I’ve been checking them out, and some of the sites are really great. Thank you all for feeding my Internet addiction. Don’t forget, to be in the running for one of two signed copies of So Not Happening, just leave a comment telling me your fave blogs to visit. More instructions are HERE.

A friend who is reading So Not Happening called me last night and had the following to say about the book:

I was so engrossed in it, I forgot to eat.” (Now you must know, anyone I hang out with is not the sort of person who forgets to eat. I could never be friends with girls who don’t recall things like lunch and dessert.) And then she said, “I’m glued to it. I can’t put it down, but I have to, or else I won’t be worth anything at work tomorrow. But I’ve read it all day. And you know I don’t do that.” (It’s true. She doesn’t. Friend does not like to read.)  “I haven’t read this fast since that smutty romance novel on the beach.” (My book does not have smut in it. It’s totally smut-free. So she’s comparing the flying pages. Not the level of inappropriate PDA and other R rated atrocities.)  So thank you, reader friend of So Not Happening. Bella Kirkwood and I thank you. And so does the pig on the cover.

I totally, shamelessly ripped this off from Chip MacGregor’s Facebook, but have you guys seen the latest from Britain’s Got Talent? You can see it HERE.

And if that’s not enough dancing for you, these guys are AWESOME. Especially when they hit the Motown mix portion. Watch it HERE. I think I could watch that kind of thing alll day. I believe Flawless is even better than these faves…

I wasn’t sure what to make of this act, but it made me smile. I love classic Michael Jackson. Who can sit still for that?

I don’t know why people got all up on their feet for THIS ONE. But I did rewind it FOUR TIMES to hear that dad say, “I’m Giles!” Have you ever seen someone say their own name with such enthusiasm, such conviction, such weird, slightly-creepy facial expressions?

Little Holly is great too. Can you believe THIS GIRL’S voice? (Can you name that musical?)

Last week, of course, was a sad one with the passing of Golden Girl, Bea Arthur. My grandmother used to watch Golden Girls, and she would always say, “This isn’t always a nice program. I shouldn’t watch it.” And then we’d gather around the TV.

Who knew Betty White was so funny in real life? Sadly, there are only two more Golden Girls left.

This weekend, I watched this:

Sometimes you just need to kick back with Joey Lawrence a stupid movie. These two (Joey and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, except she’s not Sabrina, so Joey does not get any finger snapping, blink your eyes for pizza benefits.) stage a fake wedding so they can get tons of presents and money. And of COURSE the mob is involved. And you can’t have a fake wedding without reuniting with your father, who left you as a child, and you still harbor Lifetimey amounts of bitterness.  Good flick!! No thinking involved!

I hope you have a great week. Winners of So Not Happening will be announced Friday.

Ooh, I love internet blogs!! Here are some of my top blogs to surf while at work. (Wait, did I say work? I meant um, at home, yes hooome).

http://www.robandlauren.ca – A pair of my favourite photographers, and I love seeing all their photos.
    http://www.failblog.org – Of course!
http://www.cakewrecks.com – Some very funny, failed cakes! Sundays though, they post pictures of amazng successful cakes!
http://www.stumbleupon.com – This is my newest ADDICTION! It simply lets you ’stumble’ upon many, many different websites. And you can categorize it too, so you can look at just art sites, or books, or well, a couple dozen other categories.

    Ee, enjoy!

That ten-year old girl has an awesome voice — and she was singing My Fair Lady! (One of my favorite musicals, ever.)

Glad that your friend liked SNH. (Though I don’t understand the not eating part. Usually reading YA makes me rush out to the nearest fast-food joint for a milkshake and fries. :)

“My Fake Fiance”? I figured on the parent-children issues (after all, it was Disney), but what was up with the mob?

Hahaha-I totally watched the Joey Sabrina movie too!! It was good no-thinking fun-Gotta love ABC Family for that. I actually recorded a copy so that my bridesmaids and I could kick back and watch it during the wedding weekend but we ended up just watching random TV instead. My little sister did steal my copy though and watched it with one of my jr. bridesmaids at least four times during the weekend. My mom said she can quote the whole thing now!:)

I got your book today! I had to closeline some people to get it but I got it. I’m saving it for this weekend, using it as a reward so I finish some things. My parents used to do that with Nintendo. I could only play it on weekends and that’s only if I got up in time not to be late for school through the week. Mario was worth it. So is Isabella Kirkwood. I’m so excited! *saved by the bell moment: I’m so so … SCARED!!!* I almost left a bad poem entry on Chip MacGregor’s blog but I chickened out. Alas.

I love the Golden Girls! My hubby and I have been watching the reruns recently in honor of Bea. It was such a hilarious show, and I loved these bloopers! Thanks for sharing them with us :o )
