The Mac Daddy of Poopy Purchases

It has been a dark, dark, weekend.
My new Mac arrived (still nameless because as of right now, none of the ones I’ve come up with are repeatable). And it has been HECK transitioning to the new computer from a five year old PC. OMIGOSH. OMIGOSH. OMIGOSH. I got a Mac laptop a year ago and sent it back within like 2 days for a new PC laptop. Now I remember why. It’s nuts.

I had to buy a program to transfer my iTunes library to the new computer (but I was actually glad to find said program because it was about to get ugly). I bought Office 08 for Mac, and it’s currently not working. And when I say it’s not working, I mean I’m not working. I have no idea how to use it. So far all I’ve accomplished from that software purchase it to send people some Word files they can’t even open.

And I have sooo many pictures to show you, but between my site getting a serious tune-up and the new computer…um, pics will not load. I can’t live without pics on my blog! I have pictures of Kate Gosselin, Kevin James, and a mug of a real estate business called “Dial A Mule,” which provided me HOURS of entertainment Friday night. Who names a real estate business Dial-A-Mule, I ask you?! Nobody does. And yet, I have photographic evidence this person does indeed exist. . .but I can’t show it to you. Wal-Mart shareholders week is coming up the first week of June (LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF STARS), and if we don’t have this straightened out by then, I will do something drastic. Like shave my head and beat a limo with an umbrella. Mac could totally bring out the Britney in me.

The fabulous Tyler Perry has a new Madea movie coming out this fall. Here’s a very tiny sneak peak.

Madea would NOT take any crap off her Mac. She’d pull out her glock and show it who’s boss.  Have I mentioned that my iPod is plugged into my new computer and I can’t GET IT TO LET IT GO???? I think my machine is possessed. And I downloaded Firefox (browser)…and it ate it. Where exactly do programs go that just vanish? I will be victorious over this computer. DO you HEAR me Steve Jobs??!!! Justin Long totally owes me a phone call. I just want to tell that chubby little PC guy on the commercials to hold his ground. Stay strong, Chubby PC Man. Stay strong.

A friend and I were walking/running today, and we passed by a few houses where people were out of sight, but obviously cooking out due to the awesome smell. I said, “That smell is definitely in my top 5 best smells of all time.” What about you? What are smells you love? I love the smell of old school car air conditioners. They don’t smell like much now, but back in the day, I could just snort it up. This same friend likes the smell of markers. Ew. When I sniff markers I get the aroma of brain cells dying. Gross. What are your favorite scents?

Okay, I need to go toss back a nice vintage of Tropicana with extra pulp and chill out. Have a great week. And pray for me. And my computer. One of us might not make it.

sorry about your Mac. that has got to suck…im just hoping my 7 year old Dell, Brunhilda, lasts me a little longer. shes already had a major virus overhaul the past year. this year she might be on her last…um…circuit?

anyway i love the smell of leather, some people would say “You like the smell of death?” maybe so…if all death smelled like leather,im there…but roadkill begs to differ…=/ this is depressing me…sorry…
musky guy smells are great. my kitten Franklin always smells awesome and we have no idea how. the smell of the air right before a great rainstorm is fantastic. lastly i love garlicky smells because its always followed by deliciousness.

Oooo, I’m so with you, except my horror story is a Dell not a Mac. Had it less than 24 hours before it turned poopy and ate a CD. Waiting for a new PC via UPS, before I take it back to BB and get a new one. Ugh. I hope your situation goes better than mine.

I know all 07 and up documents can’t be opened on earlier verions. You have to save it as 2003 version. Such a pain. We used Mac’s in college for yearbook production. I was constantly lost. Where’s the start button??! And the mouse…dont get me started on the mouse function. ahh!

versions not verions. sigh…I hate misspelled words.

Jen, every girl should have one friend that is a total nerd. If you don’t have said friend, you need to hang out on a couple of computer forums.

You can ask all your Mac questions there. Most likely, there will be some nice geeks (who will laugh at your simple questions behind your back) that will provide you with an answer. ;)

Favorite smells…fresh cut grass, newborn babies, the Atlantic Ocean, summer rainstorms…I could go on and on forever. My sense of smell is one of my strongest senses, due to a weird asthma/allergy connection.

Remember, make friends with the nerds. :)

I’m with Debbie on the smells…fresh cut grass, rain…anything “earthy” like that. BUT, you can’t beat a good smelling man either! There’s something about a good smelling man that makes me smile!

And I’m sorry about your computer issues…that’s just no fun at all…at least it’s almost summer…maybe that will make you smile!

I like the smell of a wood burning stove.

I don’t like the smell of piggy disection. We’re disecting pigs in biology this week. It’s gross. I named my pig Ferdinand and even with an awesome pig name like that I can’t like him because he smells so gross.

I love the smell of everything wet, after it rained the day before. Also I love the smell of cool ranch Doritos.

I hope you are the champion between you and your crazed computer. :)

Some mac questions can be answered on their website. They have a section that has videos showing you how to do a ton of basic things with their programs and stuff. Stick in there, I got a mac three years ago and had a lot of questions at the beginning but once you figure things you’ll know it was worth it!

As for smells, I love the smell of my dad’s homemade popcorn and the smell of chlorinated swimming pools.

  11. Ashley May 18th, 2009 4:41 pm

i love the smell of banana boat suntan lotion. L.O.V.E.

and i too prefer my OJ with as much pulp as possible.

    thank you and good night.

I love the smell of lemons, french fries, Caesar salad, and extra-buttery popcorn. I’m very food oriented :)
Oh, also, the breeze coming off the lake at the camp I go to in the Muskokas, and lilacs.

I like the smell of old churches. And old school buildings. They have a similar smell. My kids go to a preschool that is in a building that is 100 years old. When I walk in, you can smell the age, a mix of muskiness, old books, and furniture polish. As you go farther down the hallway, that smell is replaced with the smell of urine, but hey, it’s a preschool.

Scented markers — the blue one. Love that smell.

Lauren–Mexican food is awesome. Love the smell as well. Some people avoid it so they won’t go home smelling like fajitas, but I don’t care!

Colene-Brunhilda has to make it. Gotta give her props for hanging on seven years.

Georgiana-I got a laptop last year (PC) that so far is a lemon. STINKS. I hope your PC luck turns around!

Jenn–I am DEFINITELY struggling with this mouse. I keep trying to right click. And I’m forever trying to do ctrl and something. Useless.

Debbie–I do have a good techie friends. He has to be so sick of my dumb questions. And you’re right–make friends with nerds. Great life motto!

Tabitha-pig dissection. omg, I’m sandwiched between two biology classes and this is PIG DISSECTION WEEK!! They KNOW I hate it. There are no words…the smell…

    Alexis–Doritos–that’s great. Love those things.

Amy–I love the smell of swimming pools too. Except the musty smell that sometimes accompanies the cholorine smell at hotels.

Ashley–pulp is a must. I don’t understand people being so violently against it.

    Melodie–french fries–GREAT pick. Especially McD’s.

Natalie–Old buildings with pee! Love it!

I saw your title and immediately thought, “why is Jen buying poop?”

I got a new computer for Mother’s Day. I wasn’t even dumb enough to go from PC to laptop. No, I went PC to PC, and I’m still trying to figure out where all my stuff is!

I don’t know whether to pray for you or buy you a shotgun. If I get you the gun, will you promise to never use it on me?
