I've never had poison ivy, but last weekend I got bitten on the shoulder by an evil mystery bug, and it swelled up to the size of a large orange. and then my crazy cousin decided to put baking-soda paste on it, so i went around with little white flakes falling off all the time. ick. Husbands remedy for his poison ivy: rub it with salt until you open the bubbly woundy thing. the salt absorbs the itchy fluid. and wash away. <i have seen this clears it up pretty fast BUT it is disgusting and painful and often leaves behind scars. him being a boy= no big deal. its gross. here at the chiro: they prescribe trace minerals and biofreeze.
