My parents got me the greatest gift I have EVER received! I play guitar and have had my eye on this one. It’s the Gibson Songwritter Deluxe Standard. I am IN LOVE with it! They put a card under the tree and when I opened it, I started laughing because I thought they were joking! They have that kind of humor.When they told me it was true I screamed “I’M GETTING A GIBSON!!! WOOOHOOO!!!” No joke, I did! So this Christmas was the best ever!

Fav present-kitchenaid pro 600 mixer (my ancient hand mixer died a painful death-right during Christmas baking!). Least fav present- the same. The thing is huge. I swear they used a jet engine to build it. I can’t even lift it. Does it make good cookie dough, well, yeah. But one batch looks so lonely in the trough-sized bowl, so one must make multiple batches, causing tons of sugar ridden things to fill my house. Aaugh!!

Ruth, I love Amazon gift cards! Any kind of gift card actually. My favorite aunt gives me movie gift certificates and it’s only Wednesday and I’ve already used them all.

Evangeline, there are no words to express my sympathy over your lack of a Snuggie. I’m truly truly sorry. But on the other hand, it’s one less thing for the puppy to eat.

Jane, that made me laugh out loud. That is awesome. I love that story. And Evangeline is right–there is no topping that one.

Note to self: Do not make Colene mad at chiropractor’s office…

The box of books is just a spectacular gift idea, I love it (not to mention I’m really really jealous!). My favorite gift – it’s hard to pick just 1, though my Amazon gift card ranks pretty high, as does the baking stuff I’ve been wanting for ages.

Ok, I don’t think anybody could top Jane’s elephant dung paper. That is so awful it’s fantastic!
I desperately wanted a Snuggie this year and didn’t get one. My husband did get me fingerless gloves for when I read at night and my hands turn into icicles but I can’t turn the pages wearing regular gloves. I thought that was pretty thoughtful of him, but maybe he’s just hoping I won’t shove my frigid hands under his back when I finally turn off the light.
Oh, best Christmas present this year? Our new puppy!

Worst gift I ever received….from in-laws. My father-in-law had taken a trip to Africa. The whole family gets beautiful things like carved animal sets or chairs – ME? I get ugly brown recycled stationary made from (drum roll)LOCAL ELEPHANT DUNG, which is proudly explained on the protective covering (which I appreciated – didn’t happen to wear protective rubber gloves when opening presents.) What do you say to that? I tried “it’s the thought that counts” but was forced to ponder what that thought might be. I’ve saved it in hopes of being invited to a party where you need a ‘white elephant gift’ as a gag…and have been very tempted to use it to write “special people” who would have no idea…but what if got rained on in transit, or they cry over it – what happens then????
(In their defense, they just thought it was “unique”and artsy since it also had a little zebra shape cut-out on the cover. right……)

My favorite gift that I received was probably my “I Love Lucy” steering wheel cover and car sun visor. They’re both red and pink and feature the little stick figures of Lucy and Ricky, and I love them! I’m a big Lucy fan (my license plate actually says “Lucy Fan,” LOL), so now I have pretty much the cutest car ever. My favorite gift to give was the set of placemats and coasters that I made for my mom. Her old placemats where in pretty bad shape.

I also got “I’m So Sure” for Christmas, and just finished reading it about an hour ago. I started it last night. There’s something about your books that makes it impossible for me to put them down-I just have to know how things end. Anyway, I loved it. I was nearly crying at some parts and then laughing out loud at others (especially the scene at Robbie’s school…the ketchup pack). Your books are hilarious and so entertaining. I love the wacky plots and also the pop culture references you add in. I’m really excited for “So Over My Head!”

pretty sure 52 books is amazing!

best gift was either the snuggie(shoulda thought of that…blanket with sleeves…geeze) or the 3 Odd Thomas books and the big gift card to Barnes and Noble!

worst gift was the blue pink and yellow flowerdey tool set from my mother-in-law to not only myself but shane too. terrible. just…terrible.
