Whiffenpoof
I have six more weeks of school left. I hope I can make it. As in make it without pinching the nose right off a student. Most days my students are angels. But some days I just wish I could bring Madea to lovingly correct one or two. I'd do it myself, but I have too many papers to grade.
So the new edition of A Charmed Life is out. It's a brand new 3-in-1 with a cover I am very proud of. I keep butting in to conversations and showing it to people.
“This is a picture of my Sean with the Easter Bunny.”
“This is a photo of my Hannah in her new frilly dress.”
“This is a picture of my book. It has glitter and stuff.”
The book is very big. But big=versatile.
Here are some things you could do with it.
1. Read it.
2. Give it to Tom Cruise to stick in his lifts.
3. Use as door stop.
4. Use as alternate to baseball bat for home security.
5. Gift it to someone you love.
6. Buy a few copies in case you are picked in The Reaping and in need of fire material.
7. Donate to a high school library.
8. Use to randomly and loudly quote in packed elevators.
9. Bring it to church instead of your Bible.
10. Give it to your pastor and say, “I heard you could use a few romance tips.”
11. Use it to lift weights and bulk up biceps in case #6 occurs.
12. Put in your driver's seat of Chevy in case you have trouble reaching the pedals like a certain person I know who once bought a car because it was a pretty red. But gas and brake were too far away to comfortably drive. . .
13. Sit on back porch and chunk copies at skunks.
14. Sit on back porch and chunk copies at little brothers.
15. Use as clever safe by cutting out inside and put your sacred possessions inside. My ratty edition of Twilight secretly houses: floss, gloss, Justin Timberlake stickers, and Mike & Ike's.
If you come up with another use, please do let me know.
In other happy news, I got the call a few weeks ago that Save the Date is a RITA finalist. STD is very near to my heart, so that makes me glad. Anything that brings attention to Saving Grace and the plight of aged-out foster kids is a total blessing. As I mentioned on the Tweeters, I celebrated with a frappe. Not to be confused with the day before when I did laundry. And celebrated with a frappe.
Have a great weekend. I leave you with a clue of what I'm doing tonight.
Putting on a tie, pulling my Dockers up to my armpits, and pretending to be Buble?
Yes.
