Some Days I Wonder if YouTube Is Hiring

Where did the weekend go? Ugh. I needed just one (or two…) more days of weekend.

Thanks to friend Erin V for sharing this YouTube clip. I stole it from her Facebook page.

Adam Lambert totally lucked out and gets to sing on the movie 2012's soundtrack. You can hear it here.

Is it just me or is the word “epic” totally overused these days. Epic, Adam? I mean is it really? Epic as in genuinely epic or epic as in how every book and movie that doesn't include pratfalls is epic?  Actually I like the sound of that song a lot and think it's cool Adam is getting his chance. I couldn't listen to a whole CD of that, but he does have an amazing and expressive voice.

I know this is tacky to speak ill of other books, but I stumbled on this book cover and it kinda cracks me up. See it HERE. It's an older book, and I think it's been redone since then, but come on. Pirates get such a bad name anyway. They take over ships. They loot. They plunder. They have poor grammar and questionable dental hygiene. But now they have to be swathed in pastels and fluttery hair? Why is it I have a feeling that pirate would rather be shopping at Macy's than swashbuckling?

This weekend I was supposed to be writing. So that means I found some new things on YouTube. Actually some old things. I have my standbys. One of them is Tim Hawkins, the Chick-Fil-A song guy.

Here he is talking about Mom-isms. Some of these sound soooo familiar.

This one cracked me up.

Ugh. I can totally relate. I've had people ask me for a verse when I sign a book, and I'll totally blank. My usual is Jeremiah 29:11. (For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.)  But occasionally my brain will go out like Dish on a stormy night and I cannot think what verse in Jeremiah I need. So one time I wrote something intelligent like Jeremiah 4,928:91B  And like Tim, I just hoped it, too, was somehow meaningful.

I know with everything I am, I will regret posting this link, but if you'd like to hear more about Just Between You and Me, I did a radio interview on Missouri's KNEO Author's Corner. Funny how you can't stop a Southern accent. It's a hurricane, a train, a Britney Spears comeback–there's no getting rid of it no matter what you do.   And if you stay around 'til the end, you'll hear me tell the interviewer that I blog three times a day. I also fly and can recite the entire Old Testament from memory. I meant three times a week. Or maybe I was just lying and wanted to impress his audience. Cause that's a lot of blogging. If I had to come up with blog material three times a day I would have to give up eating to carve out some time. And we know THAT'S not gonna happen. You can listen to it HERE.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend. Omigosh, my brain is mush this morning. I mean a fabulous week. WEEK. (How is it only Monday…?)  We are starting our how-to speeches this week, so I'm hoping there will be food involved and I will get a nice sugar rush. I'm a much nicer person when my blood is pumping with brownies and pie.

Have a great week-

Jen

Oh my gosh, I loved the Tim Hawkins favorite Bible verse video! I looked up the verse in the NKJ version, and I like it better. It goes like this.

For my loins are full of inflammation, and there is no soundness in my flesh. -Psalm 38:7

I had a test in my New Testament class (for grad school, mind you) and I put that a verse was Ephesians 8:11. Epehsians only has 6 chapters.

I love that Tim Hawkins clip! Maybe for his life-verse he should’ve chosen something easier, like John 3:16.

Ditto, Carli. The KJV version is even better.

Great interview. Your accent is pretty southern, not hick southern 😉 Sometimes mine is so thick I don’t think other people understand what I’m saying. They just kinda change the subject and try to roll with it. I like that Adam Lambert song. It reminds me of the Aerosmith song from … what was the movie where the world almost got destroyed? it has that same kind of vibe. I like it.

YLT – For my flanks have been full of drought, And soundness is not in my flesh.

Maybe we should all just take a really big vacation.

I’m gonna have nightmares about those Voca People. What’s with you and the scary video clips? Last week it was that poor trampled dog. Can’t you find anything funny to share? Come on, Jen!

Joking. Loved your post. =)
