A Blog Away From a Blog
Hey, guys! Five things:
1. You have until Friday to enter the drawing for the free copy of Just Between You and Me. Directions are HERE. So far there is a great response– you guys KNOW your cartoons!
2. I forgot to post the new trailer for New Moon. Thanks to Sandi Greene for bringing that to my attention.
I like how Bella’s one single facial expression is consistent in this movie too. Makes the series more seamless. . .
3. How sad is it that Patrick Swayze passed away after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer? Very sad. He seemed like a genuinely good guy. And I base that on the fact that he stayed married to his wife forever and never upstaged a 17 year old country singer at the VMAs. Never jumped on any couches during Oprah. Never cussed out a judge during a tennis match and threatened her with her life. Good man!
4. I’m guest blogging over at Novel Journey today in lieu of blogging at my home base. So hop on over there as we discuss the muse. My muse is currently on vacation. Probably knows I’m gonna give her a half-Nelson/wedgie combo when she returns. Anyway, you can read all about it HERE. And I’m giving away a few copies of Just Between You and Me on Novel Journey as well. So get your name in the hat.
5. YA author Shelley Adina has a new book out in the All About Us series. Tidings of Great Boys could be the title of my high school years! Just kidding. More like “Another night at home alone as I make Popsicle stick art in my consuming boredom.” It’s a cute book about the character of Mac, who is from Scotland! I really liked that aspect of the story. It’s cool to read about Scotland–a book on location! I just went to Scotland this summer, so that was a nifty element for me. I do recommend you read the previous books. It’s not totally necessary, but it sure helps. All About Us is a great alternative to the Gossip Girl books, but you still get the chick lit tone and the high society girls. But no one sticks her finger down her throat for entertainment. And they don’t all drink cosmos as they study for their calculus test. (Which actually might help…)Anyway, you can read more about it, as well as a sample chapter after my signature. See you over at Novel Journey! Leave a comment there to get the chance to win a book. Or just to do me a favor and make them think I have this huge following. Mom, that includes you.
Lots of chances to get a copy of Just Between You and Me this week! Wooo!!!
See you Friday!

Tidings of Great Boys

by
Shelley Adina
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Award-winning author Shelley Adina wrote her first teen novel when she was 13. It was rejected by the literary publisher to whom she sent it, but he did say she knew how to tell a story. That was enough to keep her going through the rest of her adolescence, a career, a move to another country, a B.A. in Literature, an M.A. in Writing Popular Fiction, and countless manuscript pages.
Shelley is a world traveler and pop culture junkie with an incurable addiction to designer handbags. She writes books about fun and faith–with a side of glamour. Between books, Shelley loves traveling, playing the piano and Celtic harp, watching movies, and making period costumes.
ABOUT THE BOOK
Finals week is approaching and Mac is still undecided on where to spend the holidays. Normally she’d go home to Scotland, but spending two weeks alone in the castle with her dad isn’t as appealing as it used to be. So she invites Carly, Lissa, Gillian, and Shani to join her for the holidays!
Mac is determined to make this the best Christmas ever. She even decides to organize the traditional Hogmany dance for New Year’s Eve. If she can get her mother involved in the dance, maybe her parents will finally get back together.
But when Mac and the girls arrive in Scotland, they are faced with bad news: the castle is falling apart and Mac’s parents are struggling financially. Not only that, but Shani is in big trouble with Prince Rashid’s royal family. Can the girls find a way to celebrate the holidays, get Mac’s parents back together, save the castle, and rescue Shani from her relentless pursuers? There’s only one way to find out…

that looks like a really great book! I’m looking for good books to read lately. Of course I’ve read yours Jenny. You can’t much better than your books!
Wow…lots of shirtless men in the NEW MOON. And is that Dakota Fanning I spied? I liked the first movie. Haven’t read the books. I’m a Harry Potter diehard though.
I love the All About Us books! I started reading them when the first came out. I hate waiting for the next one.
so my favorite cartoon was most definitely the Magic School Bus! I loved Ms. Frizzle.
Jen, am I completely blind, or has your guest blog not been posted at Novel Journey yet? I want to read about your muse!
